Carl Arrington

Carl Edward Arrington, age 79, went to be with his heavenly father on Saturday, June 18, 2022, surrounded by his family. Services was held 2:00 p.m. Monday at Second Baptist Church in Union City with Mark Ward, Bro. Russell Zik and Bro. Sam Coleman officiating and Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home in Union City in charge of the arrangements. Carl was born on Jan. 4, 1943, to the late Carl Metcalf and Mary Townsend Arrington. In 1961 he joined the Navy, where he served four years as a Pipe-fitter Foreman. After his discharge, he worked for Bell South Telephone, Illinois Central Gulf Railroad and Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. Throughout his life, he was known for his dry sense of humor and his deep love for his family, friends, and country. Carl was a godly man, who was always actively involved in the churches he attended. He served as an ordained deacon, maintenance supervisor, choir member and an usher. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; sons, Eric Arrington of Bartlett, Jason (Megan) Arrington of Austin, Texas and Jarred (Andrea) Dellinger of Rockwall, Texas; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruthene Arrington; his sister, Linda Dacus; along with many friends and relatives. In lieu of flowers a memorial or honor gift may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
