HOMETOWN HEROES — Blake Boyd of Rives, an employee of Bunch Electric in Union City, hung a Union City Hometown Heroes banner honoring U.S. Army Tech Sgt. John Bailey Simrell near Commercial Bank & Trust Co. on First Street Wednesday morning. Simrell served during World War II. The Hometown Heroes remembrance banners, which are a program of Main Street-Union City, will be on display from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
