Alma Jean Baggett

Alma Jean Baggett was born Alma Jean Townsend on Dec. 30, 1948, in Jonesboro, Ark., to DuWayne and Mabel Townsend. She was one of five children. She graduated from Cotton Plant High School in May 1967.
She passed away peacefully in her home on May 5, 2022. She resided in Tumbling Shoals, Ark., with her husband, Gary Harold Baggett of 34 years. She survived by her husband, Gary Harold Baggett of Tumbling Shoals, Ark.; two sons, John (Christy) King of Union City and Ashley (Sandra) King of Pleasant Plains, Ark.; seven grandchildren, Brandon (Kari) King of Halls, Zachary (Madison) King of Union City, Nathan (Morgan) King of Kenton, Holden King (Skylar Shell) of Troy, Mason Davidson (Katherine Fyke) of Union City, Braddock King of Union City and Eric Torres (Monse Guerrero) of Woodland Mills; three great-grandchildren, Kay-den King of Union City, Eden King of Halls and Judson King of Kenton; a brother, Wayne (Kay) Townsend of Jonesboro, Ark.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Samuel Jacob King; father and mother, DuWayne and Mabel Townsed; two brothers, Durwood and Samuel Stanwood; and one sister Sue Johnson.
There will be a memorial service on May 17 at First Baptist Church in Cotton Plant, Ark., from 5-7 p.m. All friends and family are welcome to come and remember the life and times of Alma Jean.
