John Harding

John Harold Harding, age 76, of Union City passed away Thursday, Feb. 24, 2022, at AHC-Union City.
Memorial services were held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Pleasant Valley Methodist Church, with Bro. Brad Jordan officiating.
White-Ranson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Harding was born in Cottage Grove on April 14, 1945, to the late Harold Douglass and Louise Maddox Harding. He married Mrs. Linda Lu Stone Harding on Aug. 24, 1968. She survives. He worked for many years at Reelfoot Packing Co. and at Coca-Cola before opening Union City Processing Company.
Mr. Harding attended Pleasant Valley United Methodist, was a former member of Union City Rotary Club, past president of the American Cancer Society, producer of HeeHaw and Howdy Shows, Regional Vice President of Jaycees, past president of Union City Jaycees and voted Jaycee Outstanding Young Man of the Year.
In addition to his wife, Linda, Mr. Harding is survived by one daughter, Mary Tipton Woolley (Keith) of Atlanta; a granddaughter, Mary Collier Woolley of Atlanta; a brother, Charles E. Harding (Marieta) of Martin; his twin brother, Joseph Howard Harding (Jane) of Janesville, Wis.; and one sister, Anne Morris (Fred) of Austin, Texas.
Mr. Harding was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Mary Palmer and Sue Wilson.
