Paula Clanton

Paula Hughes Clanton, 87, a resident of Troy, died Jan. 14, 2022, at her son’s home in Saulsbury.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at White & Mahon Funeral Home. The Rev. Vann Kissell will officiate. Burial will follow in Triangle Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the hour of services.
Mrs. Clanton was born Dec. 7, 1934, in Troy, daughter of the late William Wilson and Alva (Craig) Hughes. She worked as an executive secretary for Memphis Light, Gas and Water. On Nov. 28, 1957, she married Charles Wesley Clanton. He preceded her in death July 28, 2009. She was a member of Troy First Baptist Church.
The family requests memorials be sent to Troy First Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, Keith (Phyllis) Clanton of Saulsbury; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two nieces, Linda Luther of Troy and Debbie Crawford of Atoka.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Billy Craig Hughes; and son, Charles Wesley Clanton, Jr.
