Billy Ray Erwin

Billy Ray Erwin, 76, of Hornbeak died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2021, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, at Greater Vision Church in Troy. Burial will follow in Terrace Hill Cemetery near Troy.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the church.
Cryer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Kelly Walker, Robbie Erwin, Jeremy Aker, Tim Simmons, Brandon Boane and Vernie Erwin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Boane, Mike Pollock and Odie “PeeWee” Erwin.
Mr. Erwin was born in Obion, the son of the late Jerry Anderson Erwin and Bonnie (Harris) Gray. He was a Vietnam Army veteran, a Baptist and retired logger for the former Roberson Sawmill.
He is survived by a daughter, Glenda (Junior) Ivy of Obion; a daughter-in-law, Trena Erwin of Union City; a brother, James Walker (Debbie) Erwin of Hendersonville; four grandchildren, Klain Ivy of Hornbeak, Kayla (Hunter) Owsley of Newbern and Alyssa Erwin and Madison Erwin, both of Union City; and four great-grandchildren, Sophia Owsley and Sadie Owsley, both of Newbern, and Ryker Spivey and Avalon Erwin, both of Union City.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Knight Erwin; a son, Jerry Ray Erwin; a brother, Jerry Glen Erwin; and two sisters, Wanda Louise Jernigan and Glenda Fay Erwin.
