Emily Jackson

Emily Bowers Jackson, 101, of Union City passed away Sunday, July 11, 2021, at Ethridge House Assisted Living.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, with visitation from noon until the hour of services Friday at White-Ranson Funeral Home. The Reverend Phillip Pinion will officiate. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.
Pallbearers will be Rod Bowers, Larry Vernon, Jim Glasgow, Roger Alexander, David Harris and Jimmy White.
Bart White, Tom Jackson, Ernie Ward, Bill Flood, Carl and Jean Johnson, Paul and Peggy Tackett, Dick and Sue Ellen Meyer, Bill Warren and Sandra Warren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
She was born Aug. 17, 1919, daughter of the late Wiley and Pearl Frizzell Bowers. She married John Atkins Jackson in 1947. He preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 1958.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Union City and worked for many years at the former First American Bank as an officer.
She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Overton of Flower Mound, Texas; a grandson, Trevor Overton and his wife, Melissa, of Flower Mound; a granddaughter, Kendall Gillen and her husband, Patrick, of Flower Mound; great-grandchildren, Baylee McClure and Easton Gillen; three nieces, Mary Jo Overton, Sandra Warren and Sue Ellen Meyer; and three nephews, Rodney Bowers, Pat Jackson and Tom Jackson.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Jackson was also preceded in death by one son, Johnny Jackson; one daughter, Nancy Lynn; and three siblings, Laverne Caldwell, Max Bowers and Beauton Bowers.
