Paul Yates, 89, a resident of Union City, died April 17, 2021, at West Tennessee Healthcare Volunteer Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at White-Ranson Funeral Home. Pastor Kent Holz will be officiating. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Yates was born on May 7, 1931, in Union City to the late James and Bertha (Johnson) Yates.
He worked in Quality Control for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. On Aug. 1, 1964, he married Janice Miller. She survives.
He was a member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Clarksville. Mr. Yates served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany.

He is also survived by a daughter, Julia (Keith) Ransom of Union City; grandson, Jonathan Ransom of Union City; granddaughter; Rebecca Ransom of Union City; brother, A.L. Yates of Union City; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Paul James Yates; two sisters; and three brothers.
