William Dale “Doc” Calhoun, 62 of Hornbeak died on Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson.
Born Wednesday, July 16, 1958, in Tiptonville, he was the son of the late Wilton Dale Calhoun and Joanne Brown Calhoun. Mr. Calhoun was the retired owner of Doc’s Electric and the fifth generation builder of the world famous Calhoun Reelfoot Lake Boats.
Funeral services for Mr. Calhoun will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 10, 2021, in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Mr. Dale True. Interment will follow in Cobb’s Chapel Cemetery near Hornbeak. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, April 10, 2021, at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 34 years, Ann Tisdale Calhoun of Hornbeak; one son, Hunter Calhoun (Allye Payton) of Tiptonville; two daughters, Niki Calhoun (Loren Sowell) of Martin and Kelley Morgan (John) of Manila, Ark.; his mother, Joanne Brown Calhoun of Tiptonville; and he was “Good Daddy” to his three grandchildren, Maggie Morgan, Everleigh Morgan and Cruz Sowell and soon to join the family in May, granddaughter, Baby Sowell.
In addition to his father, Wilton Dale Calhoun, he was preceded in death by one sister, Teresa Calhoun.
Honoring Mr. Calhoun as pallbearers will be John Morgan, Loren Sowell, Tony Mobbs, Mikey Fowler, Dustin Brewer and Cotton Brewer. Honorary pallbearer will be Dave Darnell.
