James Steven Meeks

James Steven Meeks, 70, of Kenton passed away from this life on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2021, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Funeral services were conducted noon Sunday in the chapel of Kenton Church of God, with brother Dennis Cleek officiating. Interment followed in Sunnyside Cemetery.
The family received friends from 10 a.m. until noon on Sunday at the church.
He was born Nov. 8, 1950, in Hardin County, the son of the late James and Daisy Campbell Meeks. He retired as police chief of the City of Kenton and was a member of Kenton Church of God.
He is survived by three children, Lee Meeks, Kim Baker (Johnny Mac) and Lorie Meeks; his siblings, Margaret Tubbs, Martha Ring and Betty Bailey; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Meeks; brothers, Don Meeks and Butch Meeks; and his parents.
