Mike McCarver, age 74, of Union City passed away Monday, Nov. 16, 2020, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City. Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Pastor Justin Hiens officiated. Burial followed in Obion County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Michael Fussell, Rick Stacks, Keith Nance, Kelly Stubblefield, Bobby Terrell and Karl Ullrich. Mike was born June 14, 1946, in Union City, son of the late Pleas “Sonny” and Edna (Lynn) McCarver. He married Pat (Young) McCarver on Dec. 28, 1985. She survives. He worked for the Union City Fire Department from 1969-2006 retiring as Captain. He was also a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War and member of Second Baptist Church. He is also survived by two daughters, Wendy Sims (Matt) of Jackson and Missy Emrich (Steve) of Union City; one son, Tim Wright (Windy) of Union City; four grandchildren, Dakota Bowlin and Dylan Bowlin both of Martin, Christina Bowlin of Jackson and Gage Wright of Union City; one brother, Richard McCarver (Shelby) of Fulgham, Kentucky; his brother-in-law, Buddy Young of Memphis; his sister-in-law, Cheryl Workman (Ronnie) of Union City; his mother-in-law, Katie Young of Union City; and several nieces and nephews.
