Harry Dunn

Harry Smith “Bud” Dunn Jr., age 71, formerly of Hendersonville, died Thursday, Nov. 5, 2020, in Chattanooga. A private graveside service will be conducted at Springhill Cemetery in Nashville with Cole and Garrett Funeral Home of Goodlettsville in charge of the arrangements. Born Oct. 8, 1948 in Nashville, he was the son of the late Harry S. Dunn and LaRue Pentecost Dunn. Harry spent his early years in Florence, Alabama and Dresden prior to moving with his family to Hendersonville. He was a graduate of Hendersonville High School where he lettered in four sports, was active in student government and was Mr. Hendersonville High. He received a BS degree in Business Administration at The University of Tennessee-Knoxville where he served as the manager for the Vol football team. Charismatic, witty, intelligent, his personality served him well in his work as a political campaign worker. Harry loved the church and he loved to read. He was a caring individual, who had concern for the homeless and individual civil rights of others. He is survived by his sisters, Lin Dunn, Mary Byrd, and Carrie (Richard) Thurston; his nephew, Kent Thurston; and his niece, Brittany Byrd.
