June Thelma Ruble of Hornbeak passed away on Oct. 10, 2020, at 7:24 p.m. at Jackson-Madison County Hospital surrounded by her family.
She was born in Port Huron, Mich., on Sept. 8, 1941, to the late Steve and Thelma Garska, Thelma’s maiden name was Duckworth. She met and married the love of her life, Charles Brown Ruble on June 20, 1960, in Ithaca, Mich. They later moved to Tennessee in 1962. They had three children together. Charles B. Ruble died Jan. 19, 1975, in a head-on collision on Glass Road in Hornbeak.
Ms. Ruble owned and operated Triple R riding stable alongside her children until 1987 after her husband died. She had other odd jobs after that until she finally retired in 2015. She enjoyed yard saling, riding horses, fishing, gardening, bird watching and, most of all, spending time with her family. She also loved to attend church and was a member of Hornbeak Church of Christ.
June is survived by one son, Joe D. Ruble and wife, Deborah E. Ruble; one daughter, Kelly J. Ruble-Embry; one daughter-in-law, Joyce Ruble; eight grandchildren, Brook E. Ruble and boyfriend Rafael Cardenas, Virginia M. Ruble-Cooper and husband Terry S. Cooper, Morgan L. Ruble-Tolley and husband Zachary T. Tolley, Charles S. Ruble, Jonathan D. Embry and wife Alicia C. Embry, Keegan E. Embry and fiancée Brieanna M. Jones, Ricca L. Shirley and husband Jason W. Shirley and Chad D. Eason and wife Renee Eason; seven great-grandchildren, Violet R. Embry, Rylee S. Ruble, Kyler W. Shirley, Kailey R. Shirley, Kennedy R. Eason, Destiny F. Eason and Leia N. Eason; four sisters, Marvel VanNorman, Eva Harding, Wanda Pretzer and Marylou McKenzie; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Brown Ruble; her son, John Ira Ruble; and her sisters, Jean Kelch, Barbara Dortman and Katie Brandt.
Pastor Terry Scott Cooper is presiding over the funeral. Pallbearers will be Charles Sundown Ruble, Jonathan Dallas Embry, Keegan Eli Embry, Zachary Thomas Tolley, Jimmy Harris and Charles Harris.
Immediate family and pallbearers will meet at White & Mahon Funeral Home in Troy at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday. A graveside service is to follow for family and friends at 1 p.m. at Cobbs Chapel Cemetery on Shawtown Road near Hornbeak.
