Clifford Barker

Clifford Barker, 76, of Obion went to be with the Lord at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2020, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City.
Funeral services were conducted 1 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Obion. The Rev. Kenneth Ballinger and Dr. Eric Walsh officiated. Burial followed in Zion Cemetery.
Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Cryer Funeral Home in Obion.
Pallbearers were Sam Barker, Junior Angel, Aaron Boone, Michael Priest, Eugene Hudgins and John Barker.
He was born Dec. 15, 1943, in Obion County, son of the late Wright and Jane (Burch) Barker. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Obion, where he served as a deacon.
He was a former councilman for the Town of Obion and a 30-year retiree of the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. He was an avid duck hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Patsy (Ballinger) Barker; two sons, Randall (Jean) Barker of Bristol and Russell Barker of Union City; four grandchildren, Randi Beard, Patrick Latham, Riley Barker and Sam (Lauren) Barker; and one great-grandson, Wyatt Beard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and their wives, John (Joy) Barker and Billy (Ruby) Barker; and by a daughter-in-law, Kesia Barker.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Obion County Hometown Walk of Hope, 902 Perkins St., Union City, TN 38261.
