Mrs. Rosie Lyell, 88, of Union City died Saturday, Sept. 19, 2020, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Frank Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Timothy Lyell, Jeremy Lyell, Brandon Lyell, Ricky Lyell and Barry Lyell.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until hour of the services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Lyell was born on July 4, 1932, in Lauderdale County, to the late Isaac and Eulla (Polk) Blankenship. She married Fletcher Montelle Lyell on Nov. 22, 1947. He died on April 28, 1991. She retired from the former Brown Shoe Company after 30 years and was a member of Stanley’s Chapel United Methodist Church near Union City.
She is also survived by a son, Roger Lyell of the Midway community; two grandsons and their spouses, Timothy (Lori) Lyell of Bartlett and Jeremy (Kara Michelle) Lyell of Nashville; three great-grandchildren, Brandon Lyell of Memphis and Britney Lyell Piquette and Grace Ann Piquette, both of Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
