Don Elder

November 14, 1948 – September 11, 2020

Mr. James Donald Elder, age 71, died Friday, September 11, 2020, at his residence in Martin.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.

Mr. Elder is survived by his wife, Cindy Mansfield Elder of Martin; two daughters, Miranda (Evan) McAdoo of Smyrna, TN and Lyndsey (Josh) Scott of Clarksville, TN; one sister, Marietta Nelms of Murfreesboro, TN; three grandchildren.

Mr. Elder was a retired educator from the Weakley County School System, retired from the Tennessee National Guard and was retired from The University of Tennessee at Martin.  He was a graduate of Martin High School and The University of Tennessee at Martin.  He was a member of Freeman’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Martin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Mayse Elder and Mary Francis Freeman Elder.
