Beverly Cartwright

Mrs. Beverly Cartwright, 84, of the Dixie community passed away 10:28 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, 2020, at her home.
Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Charles Southerland officiated. Burial followed in Fremont Cemetery near Union City.
Visitation was held from noon until the hour of service Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Jonathan Valenzuela, Jeffrey Kerry, Tony Clark II, Jamie Clark, Levi Beard and Brandon Beard.
Beverly was born Sept. 12, 1935, in Hornbeak, daughter of the late Franklin “Gene” and Ollie (Timmons) Beard. She married Richard Cartwright Sept. 8, 2013. He preceded her in death July 4, 2018.
Beverly had been employed in the restaurant business for 30 years and was a member of Walnut Log Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Debbie Couey of Kalamazoo, Mich., and Pam Glander of Troy; two sisters, Geneva Forrester of Union City and Fannie Jo Morton of Houston; eight grandchildren, Dan Valenzuela (Kristen) of Harmon, Mich., Jonathan Valenzuela (Kara) of Kalamazoo, Tony Clark II of San Mateo, Calif., Desmond Clark (Jessie McCants) of Boone, Iowa, Erin Rodriguez (Hector) of San Antonio, Melissa Kerry of Portland, Ore., Jeffrey Kerry (Sarah) of Kalamazoo, and Jamie Clark (Shelly) of Cypress, Calif.; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Dianna Clark; one grandson, K’Len Clark; and several siblings.
