Berta Hendon

Berta Hendon, 91, of Union City died Sunday, July 19, 2020, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City.
Funeral services will be held 6 p.m. Thursday in the chapel at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Justin Heins officiating. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Neal Hendon, Kelly Hendon, Dale Hendon, Kane Hendon, David Critchlow Jr., Scott Critchlow and Kenny Crews.
She was born on Nov. 7, 1928, in Mayfield, Ky., daughter of the late Malon and Clera (Roberts) Phillips. She married George W. Hendon on Feb. 15, 1947, and after 66 years of marriage, he passed away on June 30, 2013.
She worked for the Union City Daily Messenger for 40 years as a carrier and bookkeeper, and was a member of Second Baptist Church in Union City.
Mrs. Hendon is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Jan Hendon of Nashville, Kent and Regina Hendon of Union City, Kevin and Lori Hendon of Union City; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Beth (Nathan) Cross of Brentwood, Melissa (Jason) Eudailey of Brentwood, Neal (Andrea) Hendon of Columbia, Molly (Jake) Weatherly of Dyersburg, Dale (Caroline) Hendon of Stafford, Va., Kelly Hendon of Martin, Kimberly (Joshua) Wilkinson of Lewisburg, Pa., Kellie (Zach) Freeman of Kenton; 16 great-grandchildren, Milo Cross and Fisher Cross, both of Brentwood, Judson Eudailey and Foster Eudailey, both of Brentwood, Kane Hendon of Columbia, Karson Hendon, Kamryn Hendon and Kache Hendon, all of Houston, Madalynn Weatherly of Dyersburg, Sofia Wilkinson, Jude Wilkinson, Silas Wilkinson and Keegan Wilkinson, all of Lewisburg, Landon Freeman and Lucas Freeman, both of Kenton, and Jane Hendon of Stafford.
