RESTAURANT GUTTED

RESTAURANT GUTTED — Firefighters worked during the wee hours of Sunday morning to control a blaze that ripped through Old West Steakhouse on West Reelfoot Avenue in Union City, gutting the building which formerly housed Shoney’s and many other restaurants over the years. The fire was reported shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday and firefighters from the Union City Fire Department arrived to find the building already heavily involved by fire. Firefighters from Union City, South Fulton, Rives and Martin remained on the scene for several hours. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. (Photo courtesy of Derrick O’Dell)
