Avery L. Moore, age 83, of Gleason, passed away Friday, Dec. 13, 2019. Beloved husband of Joan Gail Moore; loving father t Diana Goergen, Eric Moore; cherished grandfather of Michael Goergen, Brandon and Ashley Moore; dedicated brother to 10 siblings and caring uncle to many nieces and nephews. Born Nov. 17, 1936 and raised as a hard working child to a young adult on a farm in Ripley, Avery at the age of 20 settled in the Chicagoland area of Illinois to build a career as a successful leader, entrepreneur and the longest running business owner on Ogden Avenue, Berwyn, Illinois, A & R Incorporated. He was a sought out trustworthy auto mechanic with long standing customers across the states. As a secondary business, Avery serviced multiple communities, townships and malls as an owner/operator of a large snow removal business with dozens of vehicles/equipment and a long standing dedicated crew. Avery made several charitable contributions throughout his life with special affection shown toward children and elders in need. Retired at age 67, Avery returned to Gleason, where he continued to help neighbors and friends without expecting recognition. His goal was to leave each person with good memories of lessons learned and to pass those on to others beyond his days with us. Avery will be greatly missed by family and friends. Visitations will be held from 4-7 tonight (Thursday) at William’s Funeral Home in Gleason, with funeral services to be held Friday at funeral Home and Hopewell Cemetery in Gleason.
