ALL ABOARD! — Union City Elementary School pre-kindergartner Ryleigh Martin and her teacher, Angela Davis, had a front-row seat Wednesday as their class listened to vice principal Thel Taylor, dressed in a train conductor’s uniform, read “The Polar Express.” Taylor made his rounds through the school’s halls and into classrooms as the Polar Express rolled through for its annual pre-Christmas visit to celebrate the 1985 holiday story that was made into a movie in 2004. He read to several classes, with many students and teachers listening intently while dressed in their pajamas for the special rails-themed story day. Students also enjoyed hot chocolate and watched the movie “The Polar Express.” Taylor will play the role of conductor at Discovery Park of America this weekend.
