Walter K. Lamb, age 89, of Martin, died Tuesday, Nov. 26,2019, at VanAyer Manor Nursing Home in Martin. Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Murphy Funeral Home in Martin with Rev. Dale Mathis and Rev. Wayne Perkins officiating. Burial followed in West Union Cemetery near Dresden. He was retired from Martin Brothers Timber and Container Corp. and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church. Lamb is survived by his wife, Edith Avonell Kirby Lamb, Martin; three sons, David (Janet) Lamb of South Fulton, Steve (Jane) Lamb of Alamo, Kentucky, and Jerry (Laura) Lamb of Camden; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Relma Williams of Midwest City, Oklahoma, and Melba Shaffer of Sandwich, Illinois. He was preceded in death by two brothers, B.J. and Paul Lamb; two sisters, Stella Keeton and Elsie Herron; and his parents, Hubert and Hattie Sutherland Lamb.
