Charles Connell

Charles Franklin Connell, 81, of Union City passed away 6:23 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, 2019, at his home.
Funeral services were to be conducted 1 p.m. today in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Dr. Melvin Poe was to officiate. Burial was to follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were to be Keith Connell, Kurtis Connell, Buddy Mackin, Gerard Cole, Wesley Joyner and Blake Cheatham.
Honorary pallbearers were to be Rocky Elliott, Blake Elliott and Gerald Cole.
He was born Jan. 8, 1938, in Trenton, son of the late Burton and Beatrice (Dunahoo) Connell. He married Patsy (Sutton) Connell Dec. 24, 1955. She survives.
He had been employed at the former Reelfoot Packing Company, Union City School System and retired from Union City Public Works.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Union City and enjoyed fishing and working in his garden.
He is also survived by two sons, Steve Connell (Sharon) and Randy Connell, all of Union City; six grandchildren, Keith Connell and Kurtis Connell (Sharee), all of South Fulton, Chasity Walley (David), Casidy Connell and Jodie Simpson (Jeff), all of Union City, and Kim Cabrera (Robert) of Wellington, Fla.; seven great-grandchildren, Kayzlee Long, Elana Hale, Hunter Hale, Hailey Simpson, Sean Cabrera, Cameron Cabrera and Charlee May Connell; one great-great-grandson, Tanner Bishop; and three sisters, Donna Mackin (Robert), Janie Elliott (Rube) and Carolyn Cole (Gerald), all of Trenton.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Keith Franklin Connell.
