National Chiropractic Health Month is every October. This year’s motto – “Strength. Stability. Success” – to promote musculoskeletal health and how it helps people live full and active lives.  Low back pain is one of the most common musculoskeletal complaints and is the leading cause of disability worldwide. It is estimated that roughly 80% of Americans will experience back pain at some point in their life. Many times, this is a result from inactivity or insufficient use of the musculoskeletal system. A general sedentary lifestyle has been credited to many health issues Americans are now facing. One’s overall health and wellness can be affected by simply moving and staying stronger during all stages of life.

So, what are some ways we can affect our overall health and reduce the likelihood of back pain? Movement. By combining an aerobic event, such as walking, with joint flexibility and strength training, an individual can lower their chances of suffering from physical conditions such as cardiovascular disease, type II diabetes, and back pain.
