Faye Vaughan

Faye Orr Vaughan, 79, of Nesbit, Miss., died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2019, at Baptist Desoto Hospital in Southaven, Miss.
Funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Hernando Funeral Home. The Rev. Ron Leonard officiated. Burial followed in Hernando Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family received friends at the funeral home from 1-3 p.m. Monday.
She was born June 14, 1940, in Obion County, daughter of W.B. “Bill” and Nell Orr. She graduated from Hornbeak High School and later attended the University of Tennessee at Martin.
She was an active member of Hernando Baptist Church and she retired from Leader Federal Bank in Memphis.
She is survived by her husband, Sammie Vaughan; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Anita Victory; and a granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Amanda Victory Beeson and Aaron Beeson, all of Hernando, Miss.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph Orr, Jack Orr and Homer Orr; and a sister, Martha Orr Taylor.
She was an active volunteer for Bridget’s Cradles. Over the past five years, Faye crocheted over 3,000 cradles to provide hospitals with cradles for babies who are born into Heaven in the second trimester of pregnancy.
In August 2016, Bridget’s Cradles wrote an article about Faye and her work. They said, “Thank you, Faye, for being one of our most loyal volunteers! We love your beautiful cradles and all of the little crocheted butterflies and hearts you put on the sides of your cradles. We know that each family who receives your special cradles will be blessed by the works of your hands.”
