Basil Moon

Basil Moore Moon, age 100, of Martin, died Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019, at West Tennessee Volunteer Hospital in Martin. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Murphy Funeral Home in Martin with Rev. Kylan Mann officiating and remarks by Bob Hathcock. Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery in Martin.  Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. until service time. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. He was a United States Navy veteran, was retired from Argo Collier and was a member of Central Baptist Church in Martin. Moon is survived by his wife, Colleen Janes Moon of Martin; his daughter, Sandra (Frank) Vincent of Martin; sister, Audrey Redmond of San Mateo, Florida; four grandchildren, Chris (Kristy) Vincent, Jeff (Michelle) Vincent both of Martin, Stacy (Bryan) Huddleston of Brentwood and Heather Moon of Palmersville; 11 great-grandchildren, Hunter (Blair) Vincent, Macy Vincent, Makenzie Vincent, Jason Hicks, Madison Vincent, Miles Vincent, Summer Sprouse, Saylas Hubble, Alexis Huddleston, Anna Grace Huddleston and Ava Huddleston. He was preceded in death by his son, Kerry Moon; parents, Allen Moon and Lockie Wilson Moon; and two brothers, Paul Moon and James Cleo Moon. Online tributes may be left at murphyfuneralhome.net.
