Ruby Neil

Ruby Goodman Neil, 82, of Sharon went home to be with the Lord Monday, Aug. 26, 2019, at West Tennessee Healthcare Volunteer in Martin. Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. today (Thursday) at First Baptist Church in Sharon with Bro. Josh Moore and Bro. Terry Neil officiating. Burial will follow in Corinth Cemetery near Sharon. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the time of service at the church with Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home in Union City in charge of the arrangements. Pallbearers will be Steve Dunn, Richard Milam, Doug Copeland, Jamie Summers, Josh
Wilkinson and Zach Freeman. Mrs. Neil was born Jan. 18, 1937, in Eva, daughter of the late Joe and Ethel Lorene Hollingsworth Goodman. She married Bobby Joe Neil on Sept. 4, 1954 and he preceded her in death June 14, 2018. Ruby retired as an account clerk with Martin Medical
Center after 29 years of service and was a member of First Baptist Church in Sharon where she was in the Women’s Missionary Union, sang in the choir and served as church clerk for many years. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Regina and Kent Hendon of Union
City; one son, Robert Neil of Sharon; four grandchildren and their spouses, Kimberly and Josh Wilkinson of Lewisburg of Pennsylvania, Kellie and Zach Freeman of Kenton, Neal and Andrea Hendon of Columbia and Molly and Jake Weatherly of Dyersburg; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, James Albert Goodman, Frederic Sykes Goodman and Hulon Reed Goodman. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to First Baptist Church Sharon Building Fund, P.O. Box 96, Sharon, Tennessee 38255.
