Mrs. Maudie Byrd, 90, of the Shawtown community died Friday evening, July 26, 2019, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at White-Ran-son Funeral Home, with the Rev. Curtis Rice officiating.
Burial will follow in the Cobbs Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the hour of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Paul Brown, Larry Brown, Claude Cranford, Roger Parsons, Arch Caruthers and Joey Brown.
She was born May 4, 1929, in Caruthersville, Mo., daughter of the late William Bernard and Carrie (Moore) Taylor. She married James Clifford Byrd in 1951. He died Nov. 1, 1994.
She was a member of Samburg Baptist Church and was an employee of the Head Start program in Troy.
She is survived by two daughters, Densie Lee Dane of Shawtown and Deborah Byrd Curtis of Troy; one son, Don Bernard Byrd of Trimble; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Joann Brown of Union City; and two brothers, Jerry Taylor and Curtis Taylor of Alabama.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Norris Taylor.
