HARD AT WORK — As a brand new school year is creeping closer, the Obion County Central High School Marching Band is already learning. Every year, band students and directors gather at the school to learn a new competition field show and its music. Members of the OCCHS brass (above, from right) Jesus Mora, Isaac Parnell, Matthew Hardin, Celeste Goodman, Alex Heathcock, Tyreke Jenkins (mostly hidden) and Alexis Lewis were hard at work Wednesday afternoon committing the music to memory. Band camp began on Monday and will continue next week, culminating with a chicken supper, auction and preview show Aug. 2 from 5-7 p.m. in the school’s commons area.
