LEARNING TECHNIQUE — With summer vacation winding to its end for local students, the Union City Parks and Recreations Department’s summer athletic programs are doing the same. This week, girls volleyball and tennis camps are in full swing. Union City High School girls volleyball coach and Spanish teacher Jodi Powell (far left) showed girls volleyball campers the correct way to strike the ball in the Union City Elementary School gymnasium on Tuesday. Among those participating were (continuing clockwise, second from left) Gracie Worrell, 11; Dafne Lopez, 13; Anna Lefebvre, 10; Carmen Elam, 12; Lennon Bing, 12; Clare Atwill, 11; Abbi Jo Powell, 11; Rylee Stone, 11; and Ryne Roney, 10.
