Natalie Hornbeak Denton, 89, of Hornbeak died Thursday, May 16, 2019, at her home on Reelfoot Lake.
Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. May 31 at Hornbeak United Methodist Church.

She was born July 5, 1929, in Fulton, to the late Ralph Glen and Sarah Virginia (Swiggart) Hornbeak. Soon thereafter, they moved to Hornbeak.
She married Samuel T. “Jack” Denton Jr. on Nov. 14, 1948, and he preceded her in death in 2010.
She opened Natalie’s Sandpiper and The Country Mouse craft and picture framing shops in Poplar Bluff. She was a graduate of Three Rivers Community College in Poplar Bluff, and became director of nursing at Royal Care nursing home in Ridgely. In 1999, she opened Acorn Point Lodge on Reelfoot Lake, which she sold in 2016.
Survivors include her children, Samuel Denton III (Mari) of St. Louis, Scott Denton of Poplar Bluff, Tracye (Ralph) Butler of Murfreesboro, and Steven Denton of Hornbeak; eight grandchildren, S. Thomas Denton IV (Elizabeth) of Oakland, Calif., Benjamin Denton and Brenda Denton, both of St. Louis, Raleigh Butler and Rory Butler, both of Murfreesboro, and Andrea Denton, Alesya Denton and V. Joseph Denton, all of St. Louis; and special friends Dewayne and Judy Haggard of Tiptonville.
Natalie was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel T. “Jack” Denton Jr., and a grandson, Ross Butler.
