THE GIFT OF LIFE

THE GIFT OF LIFE — Blue and Green Day, which draws attention to the importance of organ and tissue donation, was marked Friday with a special program hosted by the Obion County clerk’s office at the courthouse in downtown Union City. On hand to advocate organ donation were (from left) Pat and Billy Keeling of the Minnick community, Obion County Clerk Crystal Gibson Crain and the Rev. Jack and Janice Henry of Union City. Keeling and Rev. Henry both shared personal accounts of organ donation. Keeling benefitted from organ transplants in April 2018; and the Henrys’ late daughter, Ellen Henry Wade, was an organ donor who was able to share the gift of life with six others upon her death in August 2018.
