Monita Alexander

Monita Marie Alexander, 89, of Hornbeak died Sun-day, March 24, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Hornbeak Baptist Church, with the Rev. Perry Grills officiating. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her great-nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at White & Mahon Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of services Friday at the church.
She was born on Aug. 24, 1929, in Tiptonville, daughter of the late A.D. and Blanche (Godwin) Swindle. She married J.L. Alexander on Oct. 7, 1946, and he passed away on Jan. 18, 2000.
She retired as a cafeteria worker from the Obion County School System after 23 years, and was a member of Hornbeak Baptist Church for over 50 years.
The family requests memorials be made to the Antioch Cemetery Asso-ciation.
She is survived by two daughters, Sue Alexander of Huntingdon and Ann Alexander of Nashville; a son and his wife, Bob (Wendy) Alexander; three grandchildren, J. P. Rudicil, Beth Hartilieb and Ashley Alexander; two great-grandchildren, Ginny Hartlieb and Maggy Hartlieb; and a brother, Dickie Swindle of Union City.
She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Peggy Weaks and Betty Orr.
