Denise Eason

Denise Ann Sawyers Eason, age 63, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2019. A Memorial Service will be held in Gleason at a later date. Denise was born on Jan. 1, 1956 to the late June and George Thomas Sawyers. She was raised in Gleason. With her caring nature, she became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She would go on to work in the Nursing field for over 40 years. She worked in hospitals, nursing homes, and as a home health/Hospice nurse. She truly cared for those she served. Denise was married to Kenneth Eason in 1978 and they had two children, Christopher and Brenton. Kenneth preceded her in death on Dec. 24, 1997. Denise moved to DeFuniak Springs, Florida, in 2016 after the birth of her granddaughter, Ellie Raye. Her love and devotion to her sons and granddaughter were the driving force in her life. Those who knew her will remember her for her kindness, her generosity, and especially her sense of humor.  Denise is survived by her sons, Christopher and Brenton; her daughter-in-law, Shandin; and her granddaughter, Ellie Raye. She was preceded in death by her parents, June and George Thomas “Tommy”  Sawyers; her husband, Ken; and her two brothers, Bill and Tom Sawyers.
