Shirley Watts

Shirley Ann Watts, 82, of Graysville, formerly of Hickman, Ky., passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at her home.
Funeral services will be 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday and from noon until the hour of services Saturday at the funeral home. Larry McBee will officiate.
She was born on Sept. 22, 1936, in Fulton to William Trigg and Jennie Jouett Mosley Evans. She was raised by her aunt and uncle, Hope Jane Evans Counce and Loyd Scrap Iron Counce.
She graduated from Woodland Mills School and the former Beauty Operator School in Union City. She worked as a beautician in Fulton and Memphis before going to work for RCA in Memphis. She was then a full-time mother raising her three children, allowing her husband Donald to establish a career with Kellogg’s and the AFL-CIO Union.
They were married at the Church of Christ in Union City on June 20, 1959.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Donald Paul Watts of Graysville; three sisters, Rebecca Jane Evans Johnson of Memphis, Wanda Carlson of Romeoville, Ill., and Diane Counce Woody of Annona, Texas; and a brother, Joe Evans of St. Louis; two sons, Rodney Paul Watts of Graysville and Joey Dean Watts of Memphis; one daughter, Kimberly Ann Brunner of Graysville; seven grandchildren, Brandon James Watts of Hickman, Chantel Marie Brunner of Chattanooga, Staff Sgt. Christopher Blake Watts of Paris Island, S.C., Cassandra Danielle Brunner of Graysville, Bradley Joshua Watts of Memphis, Victoria Paige Brunner of Salt Lake City and Jacob Paul Watts of Dayton; and five great-grandchildren, Adelyna, Oaklan, Addilyn, Vail and Vanna.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were a brother, George Edwin Evans of Woodland Mills; and a sister, Betty Jean Fields of Chicago.
