Charles Lyndell Caldwell, 89, of Paris, formerly of Union City, passed away 8:25 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2019, at the Anna Mae Owen Hospice House in Murray, Ky.
Funeral services were to be 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Corey Cain and the Rev. Justin Hiens were to officiate. Burial was to follow in Fremont Cemetery near Union City.
Visitation was to be from noon until the hour of services today at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were to be Gary Caldwell, Cassidy Caldwell, Caylex Caldwell, Allen Marcum, Dustin Buck, Brian Burkett, Brad Burkett and Greg Dunn.
Honorary pallbearers were to be Charles Dunn, Lanny Callicott, James Harold “Coddie” Caldwell and Bud Burkett.
He was born July 6, 1929, in Obion County, son of the late Houston and Martha (Brown) Caldwell. He married Nancy (Hinton) Caldwell July 12, 1953. She survives.
Lyndell retired from the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company after 25 years of service. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, where he flew on B-29s.
He was a member of Maplewood Baptist Church in Paris. He was a former member of Second Baptist Church in Union City, where he had served as a deacon and was in the choir.
He is also survived by one daughter, Laura Beth Marcum (Allen) of Springville; one son, Gary Caldwell of Reedville, Va.; three grandchildren, Cassidy Caldwell (Corrina) of Bossier City, La., Casey Buck (Dustin) of Nashville and Hailey Maddox of Springville; and one great-grandson, Caylex Caldwell of Bossier City.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Greg Caldwell and one brother, Bobby Caldwell.
