Claudett Bowles
Claudett Delores Bowles passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 15, 2019, at the age of 70.
Claudett was born in South Fulton on Aug. 5,1948, the only daughter to Clarence and Claudia Stunson.
Following the passing of her husband, Randall Keith Bowles, in November 2018, Claudett purchased her own home for the very first time at the tender age of 69, where she planned to enjoy her golden years of retirement. She primarily resided in the Shaker Heights area of Cleveland, Ohio, up until then.
Prior to graduating from South Fulton High School in 1964 and beginning college at Southern Illinois University (SIU), she was raised in a God-fearing, Christian home and attended Roach Street Church of Christ.
In September 1966, at the age of 18, Claudett was united in the holy bonds of matrimony to her first love and college sweetheart, Eugene Johnson Blackwell. From this union, one child was born, Brent Eugene BIackwell.
In 1978, Claudett was wed to her true love, Randall Keith Bowles. They would remain wed for some 41 years until his sudden and untimely death in November 2018. From this union, one child was born, Melanie Micah Bowles.
Claudett was a smart, loving, affectionate, thoughtful, compassionate and devoted daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. It was an honor and a privilege to be connected to her in one of those roles as she cherished each one.
She loved to entertain, socialize and, over the years, enjoyed traveling with her husband and friends. She had a wonderful smile that could light up a room.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Claudia Stunson; and her husband of 41 years, Randall Keith Bowles.
She also leaves her children, Brent (Donna) Blackwell of Little Rock, Ark.; Melanie (Anthony David) Bowles of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, and Randy (Marcia) Bowles and Dagne Bowles, all of Cleveland; and a brother, Ernie (Flordeliza) Stunson of Centennial, Colo.
She was the proud grandmother of Shana, Jeron, Cameron, Micah, Brandon, Deanna, Bryce, Sarah, Louis, Thomas and Claudia. She will be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday at Edwards Funeral Service, located at 1166 Parsons Ave. in Columbus. The repast will be held at the home of Melanie Bowles and Tony David at 898 Brice Road in Reynoldsburg.
A visitation will be 2-3 p.m. Tuesday at Highway 45-East Church of Christ in South Fulton, with Bro. Todd officiating.
Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Fulton.
