FOND FAREWELL — Union City Police Department investigator Susan Andrews paused to reflect on her career Tuesday while looking at her police academy class graduation photo. She is retiring from a near 33-year career with the police department. She started as a patrol officer in February 1986 and moved through the ranks, becoming the police department’s first female criminal investigator in December 2007. She will be honored with a retirement reception Friday from 2-4 p.m. at the police station, located at 221 Harrison St. in Union City. The event is open to the public.
