Dayna Kay Sergerson Cook, 50, of Hendersonville passed away Sunday, Nov. 18, 2018.
A celebration of life Mass will be held at noon Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Union City.
She was born Aug. 20, 1968, in Union City, but moved to the Nashville area in 1991.
She has since worked in healthcare billing as an accounts manager with Citadel Healthcare.
She is a 1986 graduate of Union City High School and attended Dyersburg State Community College and the University of Tennessee at Martin. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in business.
She spent her time raising her two boys and attending their sports events and activities. She enjoyed classic rock and country music. Her special talent was “moonwalking.”
She was a great daughter, sister, wife, mother and was a great friend to many. She was always willing to help someone in need.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Cook; two sons, Jonathan Ryan Cook and Colin Reece Cook; one brother, David B. Sergerson; two sisters, Dawn Black and Deana (Rick) Mangold. She is also survived by her parents, David and Freida Sergerson; three nieces, seven nephews, several aunts, uncles, cousins and many extended family and friends and last but not least, Smokey the cat.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Clarence and Ruth Johnson; her paternal grandparents, Damon and Cecelia Sergerson; and her aunt, Marsha Arnold Phillips.
