Doris McConnell

Mrs. Doris McConnell, 88, of Hornbeak died Monday, Nov. 12, 2018, at The Waters of Union City.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Hornbeak City Cemetery, with Bobby Stewart officiating.
Her friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
There will be no visitation held.
She was born July 7, 1930, in Hornbeak, to the late George and Gladys (Stegall) Covey. She married Bobby Summers on Feb. 8, 1950. He passed away July 11, 1980. She married O’Dell McConnell on Feb. 14, 1998. He passed away July 24, 2003.
She worked as a teller at Reelfoot Bank in Hornbeak for 23 years and was a member of Hornbeak Church of Christ.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews; two stepsons, Jimmy McConnell and Jackie McConnell; three step grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; and a life-long friend, Oletha Dunahoo.
She is also preceded in death by four brothers, Herbert, Bobby, Kenneth and Bud Covey.
