Curtis James
Curtis Leon James, 76, of Union City died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Rawls Funeral Home Chapel in Union City, with the Rev. Leroy Brent officiating. Interment will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the hour of servies Friday at the funeral home.
He was born on Dec. 20, 1941, in South Fulton, and was married to Cloresa (Ingram) James.
He attended Rosenwald School, was a United States Army veteran and a member of True Gospel Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Cloresa James of Union City; a daughter, Stephanie (John) Wynn of South Fulton; four stepchildren, Larquinte Ingram, Taskay Ingram and Dennis Lewis Jr., all of Union City, and Denise Lewis of Martin; a sister, Mary Turner of Chicago; a stepbrother, James “Hub” Milligan of Union City; three stepsisters, Estella Cummings of Los Angeles, Johnnie Woody of Paducah, Ky., and Della Jenkins of South Bend, Ind.; 16 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Morris Cloar; four brothers, Lee William Ward, Harold Ward, Robert Milligan and George Milligan; and a sister, Mary Carter.
