Cavita Barnes

Mrs. Barnes was born in Union City Feb. 9,1916. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Alice Pate; and her former husband, Willis Barnes. Although Mrs. Barnes was the next to youngest of eight brothers and sisters, she was the longest surviving of all her siblings.
She is survived by two sons. The oldest is Allen Barnes and his wife, Ondrea Barnes; their two sons and their spouses, Christopher Allen (Natalie) Barnes and Zachary Michael (Emma) Barnes; and her great-grandson, Mason Allen Barnes, all of Texas. She is also survived by her younger son, Ken Barnes, and his wife, Sharon Barnes, of Mechanicsville, Va.; their two daughters and their spouses, Deborah Lynn (Richard) Ramoutar of New York City and Kendra Lee and Chris Price of Ashland, Va.; and her six great-grandchildren, Megan, Aiden, Ethan, Noah, Canaan and Colton.
Mrs. Barnes loved her family. She lived a long and full life. She will be missed by Allen and Ken, their wives, her grandsons and granddaughters, great-grandsons and great-granddaughter.
A funeral service was held at Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home at 8014 Lee Davis Road at 11 a.m. Tuesday.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday in the Sanders Chapel Cemetery in Obion County.
