Bob Tanner

Mr. James Robert “Bob” Tanner, 79, of Union City passed away 6:25 p.m. Sunday, February 19, 2017, at The Waters of Union City.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Steve Carr will officiate. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Terry Wright, Bobby Doughten, Joe David Anderson, Josh Mullins and Nathan Tanner.
Mr. Tanner was born July 20, 1937, in Obion County, son of the late Mididian and Ruby (Gwaltney) Tanner. He married Sandra (Springstead) Tanner May 30, 1952. She died October 2, 2010. Mr. Tanner was a longtime gun dealer and was a member of Sunswept Baptist Church in Union City and a former member of Memorial Baptist Church in Murray, Kentucky.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Terry Wright of Union City; his son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Teresa Tanner of Union City; two grandchildren, Bobby Doughten and Dawn Younger, both of Union City; his step-grandson, Josh Mullins of Union City; and three great-grandchildren, Mallorie Ruddle of Union City, Layla Mullins of Lone Oak, Ky., and Tanner Doughten of Union City.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Bobby Tanner; two brothers and two sisters.
