Jimmy Ray Long
Funeral services for Mr. Long wereconducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home in Kenton, with Bro. Hoyt Wilson officiating.
Interment followed in Sunnyside Cemetery in Kenton.
Military honors were observed.
Jimmy Ray Long was born July 18, 1937, in Bristow, Okla.
He was the son of the late Samuel Dewey and Cynthia (Johnson) Long.
Mr. Long was a retired electronics instructor with Tennessee College of Applied Technology-Newbern.
He served his country with the U.S. Army.
Mr. Long is survived by his daughter, Adrian Eddlemon. and her husband, Chris; his son, Jimmy Ray Long Jr.; four grandchildren, Lauren Conner, Austin Eddlemon and his wife, Felicia, Taylor Rae Eddlemon and Emily Long; five great-grandchildren, Bryson Conner, Channing Rae Alexander, Harper Dianne Eddlemon, Liam Christopher Bane and Leighton Maddox Bane; his sister, Helen Childress; his sister-in-law, Alice Faye Wyrick, and her husband, Billy; his nephew, Steven Randall Wyrick, and his wife, Deanna; and two great-nephews, Garrison Wyrick and Mason Wyrick.
Mr. Long was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda (Tucker) Long; his parents, Samuel Dewey and Cynthia Long; two brothers, James D. Long and Harold W. Long; and his nephew, William Shane Wyrick.
