James Hayden

Mr. Hayden was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hickman, Ky. He had been a tire builder for the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. He was the Fulton County (Ky.) football coach for over 25 years, was a substitute teacher in Fulton County, was a double black belt in karate and was a union steward (URW) and member of USWA for over 30 years. He was also an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener and he loved his family, friends, flowers and his dog, Boomer.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa (Wright) Hayden, whom he married Nov. 28, 1974; three children, Micah Danelle (Matt) Gardner of Cayce and Ryan Christopher (Amanda) Hayden and Patrick Michael (Mindy) Hayden, all of Sedalia, Ky.; six grandchildren, Christian Michael, Sarah Micah and Madeline Belle Gardner, all of Cayce, and Ethan Michael, Annelise Marie and Gabrielle Brook Hayden, all of Sedalia; his sister, Dean Hayden Jones of Cunningham, Ky.; and two nieces, Lona Culbertson of Paducah, Ky., and Lashae Foster of La Center, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Geneva (Young) Hayden.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hickman, with burial to follow in the Cayce Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. today at Fulton County High School gym.
