Marilyn Stokes
Mrs. Stokes was a member of First Christian Church in Fulton and a past president of the Fulton Woman’s Club and was very active in the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a 1948 graduate of the University of Arkansas and had worked as a social worker for the Department of Human Resources for the State of Kentucky. She had lived most of her life in this area.
She is survived by two children and the spouse of one, Linda Ann Stokes of Fulton and David (Marsha) Stokes of Union City; five grandchildren; Jenny Lynn Bond of Tupelo, Miss., Emily Miller of Union City, Kelly Johnston of Milan, Justin Stokes of Union City and Molly Napier of Nashville; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Boyd “Bill” Stokes; and her parents, Clarence and Beulah (Bartley) Francis.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hornbeak Funeral Home in Fulton, with burial to follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from noon Thursday until the hour of services.
