Jack Siler
Jack was born Saturday, April 23, 1932, to Lacey Curtis Siler and Mary (Hargett) Siler in Obion County. Jack grew up in Mason Hall and Kenton. He graduated from the former Kenton High School and served in the U.S. Army before beginning his career with Tennessee Department of Transporation.
Jack was a gentle, humble man who loved his family and friends. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, gardening and all things to do with the outdoors and nature. He was a Christian and a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church, first in Mason Hall and then in Kenton. In 1956, he became a Mason and served the local organization for 60 years in various capacities. He was also a member of the Lion’s Club.
Mr. Siler was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Joye (McCleish) Siler, five brothers and four sisters.
He is survived by his daughter, Kathy Eskew, and her husband, Tommy, of Martin; his son, Bill Siler, and wife, Susan, of Bartlett; his sister, Linda (Siler) Winchester; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Siler were 3 p.m. Sunday, with Bro. John Varden officiating. Interment followed in Sunnyside Cemetery of Kenton.
