Nell Gurien Smith
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at White & Mahon Funeral Home in Troy, with Bishop Charles Bradshaw, Russell Caldwell and Brad Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Terrace Hill Cemetery near Troy.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
Family members will serve as pallbearers.
They request that memorials be made to the American Parkinson’s Disease Associ-ation.
She was born Sept. 26, 1939, in Memphis, daughter of the late Dorsey Love and Dona Mae (Smith) Lunsford. She married Marlow R. Smith April 12, 1993. He survives. She had been a bookkeeper for Walgreens for 34 years and she attended the Fulton Church of the Latter Days Saints. She also attended Samburg Baptist Church and was a member of Southaven Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, David Wayne Gurien of Nashville; three grandsons, Robert Chandler Gurien, Billy Gene Gurien and Jerry Allen King; seven stepsons and their spouses, Marty and Renea Smith, Will and Cole Smith, Ben and Kristan Smith, Carey and Donna Smith, Charlie and Ashley Smith, Billy and Judy Gurien and Jerry King; five stepdaughters and their spouses, Lockie and Buster Tuck, LuLu and Randy Moseley, Bethany and Bobby Diaz, Marsha and Tony Carlisle and Tina and John Sansone; 74 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and her brother, Robert Lunsford of Oakland.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Robert Gurien; her grandchild, Avery Dayne Gurien; and her brother, Dorsey Love Lunsford Jr.
