Junior Poyner
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Charles Southerland will officiate. Burial will follow in New Haven Cemetery near Ridgely.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. today.
Pallbearers will be Chase Jones, Tim Isbell, Nick Guess, the Rev. Billy Uzzle, Paul Sampson, Raymond Guess, Buddy Powell and Dwayne Uzzle.
Honorary pallbearer will be Greg Gaskins.
Mr. Poyner was born Nov. 23, 1948, in Graves County, Ky., son of the late Audrey Elmo and Dorothy Marie (Crittendon) Poyner. He married the former Betty (Moffitt) Williams Dec. 15, 2006. She survives. Mr. Poyner was employed by Art Craft Sign Company in Dyersburg for 28 years and was a member of Sassafrass Baptist Church, where he did maintenance work for the church.
He is also survived by his daughter, Teresa (Carl) Bennett of Ridgely; his stepdaughter, Phyllis (Lee) McClure of Eastover, N.C.; two grandchildren, Josh Henson of Tiptonville and Lindsay Henson of Gates; his great-granddaughter, Linleigh Henson of Tiptonville; five sisters, Sheila Poyner and Donna Marlow, both of Tiptonville, Mary Gurley of Wynnburg, Ruthie Kiddy of Dyersburg and Nora Lou Spicer of Yorkville; and two brothers, Jerry Poyner of Hornbeak and Dwayne Poyner of Ridgely.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Tommy Poyner; and two sisters, Shirley Runions and Barbara Marie Poyner.
