Juanita (Treece) Griffin
Completed arrangements are being announced for Juanita (Treece) Griffin, 96, formerly of Union City, who passed way in Lebanon Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017.
She was born Jan. 14, 1920, to the late Joseph Benjamin and Mary Malone (Wiley) Treece. She was educated at the former Lone Oak and Dixie schools and graduated from Freed-Hardeman College in Henderson. She had taught at the former Hornbeak, Woodland Mills and Dixie Elementary Schools.
She was married for 65 years to Calvin N. Griffin, who predeceased her in 2011. She was also preceded in death by five sisters and her brother.
She is survived by her three children, Teresa (Carlin) Brooks of Lebanon, Trent (Marlene) Griffin of Paducah, Ky., and Amelia (Scott) Ford of Beaver Dam, Ky. She has six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, Leigh Brooks (Rich) Reaves, Harper and Sydney of Houston; Gregory (Carolyn) Brooks, Wes and Sam of Abilene, Texas; Gina Griffin (Scott) Stewart of Gallatin; Kevin (Kristin) Ethridge, Garrett and Cody of Owensboro, Ky.; Julie Griffin (Chris) Martin, Dane and Charlee of Paducah, Ky.; and Chris (Tasha) Ethridge, Addy and Archer of Louisville, Ky.
Mrs. Griffin was a member of Berea Church of Christ.
Her funeral will be conducted at White-Ranson Funeral Home Monday at 1 p.m. Visitation will be Sunday, 2-5 p.m., at the funeral home.
Roy Sharp of Henderson will officiate and Roger Fisher of Union City will deliver the eulogy.
Pallbearers will be Raiford Tarver, Mark McCullough, Bill Smith, Joe Pryor, Billy Woody and Tommy Carpenter.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Matheny, Ronnie Webb, Dr. Sam Bradberry, Glenn Mayse, Dr. Jim Batey and Dr. Bobby Williams.
Burial will follow in the Cobbs Chapel Cemetery.
The family requests that memorials be made to Berea Church of Christ, in care of Mark McCullough, 1092 North Hall Griffin Road, Union City, TN 38261.
